The Chiang Mai squirrel has been busy too with traveling, maternity leave and moving house!

As I was unpacking and decorating the new house I was reminded of how much I love bamboo baskets - they have such an organic feel and are so versatile.  I like to use mine for flowers and fruit, the more unusual the better!

One Anemone from the flower shop and three wild cousins from forest with the beautiful name Anemone nemorosa. Spring has finally arrived!

It has been a busy Easter with a lot of work but also a good portion of friends, family and food! Now it is back to even more work. Treating my self with coffee and  some dates. Everything on the photo is little finds from Chiang Mai over the years, except for the coffee and dates :)

Finally my Hoya carnosa is also feeling the spring and producing lovely pale pink flowers. I just love the light pink together with the dark green!

Still no sign of spring here in Stockholm. Sigh. On the other hand this is the absolutely best time for tulips! Happy weekend to you all!

A study in fika and Muscari botryoides. One of my favourite spring flowers. I really enjoy the timid light blue colour. This year I put them in in my Kivi light holders. Perfect for little bulbs!

A wintery feel in the living room.
Got a new bunnie as a gift and just could not resit buying myself some Chamaelaucium uncinatum.

Little things that makes me happy on a grey winters day!

Flower arrangements! This one from a table at the lovely Mood Mellow in Chiang Mai. I got no clue what kind of plant it is.

Sometimes I just have to treat myself to an orchid or two.  I found these at a bargain price at the Kham Thiang Plant Market in Chiang Mai (which is right next to Tesco Lotus Kham Thiang).  This plant market is fantastic for all types of tropical and house plants, but I especially love their orchid selection.  They have several unusual species which, instead of paying to see at a botanical garden, you can pay and take with you home!

Squirreling about - far far away

A trip to Tam Coc!
After a few days in Hanoi it was time for some nature! We took a train to the little town of Nin Bin about two hours north of Hanoi and rented motor bikes. We had heard some lovely things about  the nature up there and it was truly spectacular. We drove to a little village called Tam Coc famous for goats and caves. We did not try the goat though (I´m a vegetarian) but we went on a lovely boat ride to the caves in the river.

I rally enjoyed the motor bike ride the most. It was the perfect way to experience the beautiful rocks and green and lush views!

Squirreling about - far far Away

Feeling nostalgic for Luang Prabang!  I visited this lovely World Heritage Site earlier this year and am always dreaming to go back...  If you're contemplating a trip to Laos, don't forget to include Luang Prabang in your itinerary!

Mixing wild and "tame" flowers. I also adore the somewhat unusual colour combination!

My favourite flowers at the moment are fresh ginger flowers - they're still in season and come in so many pretty colours!
