Squirreling about - Chiang Mai

You can't have to much cakes can you? I would definitely suggest a visit to Mont Blanc for some treats. There are several branches of Mont Blanc in Chiang Mai, and two (!?) in Nimmanhaemin, I prefer the one on soi 2. It is packed with delicious cakes and ice cream and  also some really cute vintage furniture. A perfect place for a loong "fika".

Squirreling about - Chiang Mai

In the mood for Mood Mellow
I think I just found myself a new favourite café here in Chiang Mai! You find Mood mellow tucked away in Soi 3, Nimmanhaemin Road. First of all I really like the interior and the design of the menu, things I always look at when coming into a new place ;) The food and cakes are really, really great as well. It is very hard to choose between just having lunch or having lunch with desert when visiting. Most of the times I just have to get both. And YES I have already visited quite a few times.

Squirreling about - Chiang Mai

Sunday afternoon tea, or rather, carrot cake and latte, at a cafe in Mae Kampong.  This is the second time I have visited this charming little village and it won't be the last.  For directions of how to get there from Chiang Mai, see my previous blog post about Mae Kampong here

Squirreling about - far far away

Staying and Eating

This time visiting Berlin we stayed at a brand new bio hotel in Friedrichshain called Almodovar Hotel. The room was just perfect and the staff really sweet and helpful. I can definitely recommend it.

When in Berlin don't miss the lovely breakfast options! You can usually order a big plate of all sorts of nice things and lovely bread!

If you visit the Kreuzberg area don't miss out  on the lovely restaurant Markthalle on Pücklerstraße, with lovely German food and a genuine décor.

If you like Asian food I would highly recommend Transit  which has restaurants both in Mitte and Friedrichshain.

There are plenty of very nice places to get ice cream in Berlin and almost all are very good! If you fancy yoghurt ice cream try out Yoli and get all carried away with their gorgeous selection of toppings! They have shops on three different locations in Berlin so one is likely to be near you! Have a look at their web site for details and lovely photos!

I really like Russian food and in Friedrichshain you can find the lovely Datscha.
Here you can eat and drink in Russian style!

Lovely raspberry and chocolate cake from my new favourite cake shop here in Stockholm. Fortunately or unfortunately (depends on how you look on it) it is close to where I live!

Squirreling About - Stockholm

No need to leave your sourdough home alone any more! The Urban deli bakery here in Stockholm offers a hotel for your beloved dough and takes care of it while you are on holiday! Even though I don't have the need for that service I went there for "Fika" with a sweet friend and my Italian lemon pie was very nice indeed.

Squirreling About - Stockholm

The other day I visited  Café Nero which is located in a part of the city where I usually don't go very often. I am very happy that I ended up here because it was just lovely and the pastries and sandwiches where great.

The easiest way to get there is by bus number 2 to Jarlaplan, the café is then located on Roslagsgatan 4.

Squirreling about - Chiang Mai

Love at First Bite is one of those places that everyone talks about but I haven't been to - until today when I stopped by for lunch.  Had some lovely fish and chips and a fresh passion-fruit juice but unfortunately there was just not room enough for dessert.  Love at First Bite is known for its mouth-watering cheese-cakes so I can't wait to try one next time I visit!  Check back soon for more photos!

How to get there - Love at First Bite is located across the Ping River on the Chiang Mai-Lamphun Road, soi 1.  If you're coming across Nawarat Bridge turn right, then first left.
