Sometimes I prefer just simple black and white. Was out shopping in San Kamphaeng on Saturday and found these lovely thick cotton throws that I couldn't resist buying. Perfect for the sofa or favourite armchair!

Finally the weather is sunny and warm enough to sit out in the garden for lunch and dinner. I love using blue and white china and my Hmong fabrics from Chiang Mai!

Trawling the Hmong stalls at Warorot market the other day I remembered some textiles that I had bought several years ago but still haven't done anything with. They are panels from the back of old Hmong garments which are becoming increasingly difficult to find. I fell for the combination of old sequins and traditional embroidery and now that I'm doing some re-decorating at home I'm thinking that with a bit of velvet trim they would make beautiful cushions!

For the past few years I have been collecting Hmong textiles from Warorot Market and the Night Bazaar. Here are some of my favourite pieces!

Chiang Mai's markets are full of ethnic textiles of all descriptions - these are Pwo and Sgaw Karen married women's blouses embroidered with yarn and Job's tears seeds. I feel so inspired by these brilliant colours, cute pompoms and detailed hand-stitching!
