Squirreling about - far far away

This Stockholm Squirrel really likes Bangkok. And with snow and icy winds in Stockholm it seams lik a an even better idea to stay in warmer countries for a while.

When in Bangkok I think it is a really great idea to visit iBerry for d e l i c i o u s ice cream. Here we are at the iBerry in Thonglor Town Center. Yummy!

Squirreling About - Chiang Mai

I braved the midday sun yesterday to explore the latest addition to the area around Thapae Gate - a small shopping plaza and park called At Rachadamnoern.  Although most of the shops were closed when I was there (they seem to open mostly in the evening) the place has a nice, clean atmosphere with a nice little fountain.  I stopped to cool off at a cute little ice cream bar called Turtle Homemade ice-cream where I treated myself to a delicious mango smoothie.

Acorn

It is still really cold and damp here in Stockholm, but I still say any day is a good day for ice cream. Here vanilla with chocolate sauce. Yummy! It is served in a darling green  melamine bowl that I got as a present from a very sweet Squirrel living in Chiang Mai.  The bowl is part of a set from the lovely The House Shop in Chiang Mai. The cute tangerine spoon me and boyfriend bought from a street vendor some where in the French Concession in Shanghai. The spoon is actually made of ceramic and just perfect for ice cream eating!

Squirreling About - far far away

We do love ice cream here at The Squirrel and I, and this September when both of the Squirrels were at the same part of the world at the same time we ran into this fabulous place!  In Bangkok Art and Culture Center you can find the lovely little ice cream shop created by the designers behind Icedea. The décor is gorgeous and they offer some pretty interesting ice cream flavours! If you have the chance it is well worth a visit.

Squirreling about - Chiang Mai

The Chiang Mai iBerry is such a delight to visit!  Situated in the shade of two giant trees, the garden cafe feels lush and cool even during hot afternoons.  There is a mister as well, which does its job effectively.  I love just walking around and looking at the amazing lamps hanging from the tree branches or sitting on the terrace enjoying a latte and sorbet.  iBerry is known for the exotic flavours of its ice-creams, sorbets and smoothies.  I had a tough choice between longan, spicy mango and passion-fruit, try and guess from the photo which one I chose!

How to get there - You will find iBerry on soi Sainampueng either by following the signs from Sirimangkalajarn Road soi 13 or Nimmanhaemin Road soi 19.  If you visit on a week-end, note that it can get very busy in the afternoons.

Squirreling about - far far away

I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream!

This particular one is from iBerry in the Emporium food court. iBerry is a really nice chain of ice cream shops located all over Thailand. One of our favourite ones is the shop in Thonglor, Bangkok. And of course the one in Chiang Mai, which you will get some more details and photos from in the near future...

The ice cream shops are really a joy to visit with super cute interiors and lovely flavours of ice cream and smoothies. Any of the shops are definitely worth a visit!
